Platane Maserknolle 18,8 cm

Platanenholz hat eine porige Oberfläche, die an Leder oder Schlangenhaut erinnert.
Dieses Holz hat zusätzlich eine Maserstruktur im Zentrum der Mühle mit schönen Augen oder Verwirbelungen und kleine Rillen.

Robinie Maserknolle 17,7 cm

Die Robinie wird auch Scheinakazie genannt und bringt den heimischen Akazienhonig hervor. Das Holz ist passenderweise honigfarben. Diese Mühle zeigt im oberen Teil einer wellige Maserstruktur und im unteren Teil ein großes dekoratives eingewachsenes Rindenstück.

Maserhölzer sind Spielereien der Natur und treten entweder in sogenannten Maserknollen, oder in ganzen gemaserten Stämmen auf. Maserknollen sind warzenartige Auswüchse an Baumstämmen, wie man sie oft an Alleebäumen sieht. Eine Anhäufung von „schlafenden“ Knospen oder wildes Wachstum von hunderten kleiner Ästen gleichzeitig. Maserknollen können viele Äste bzw. Augen, Rindeneinwüchse oder kleine Risse enthalten. Dies beeinträchtigt nicht die Haltbarkeit oder Funktionalität unserer Mühlen.

Das mehrfache Einlassen mit Hartöl bietet soliden Schutz und gibt der Holzstruktur Tiefe und Plastizität. Durch die aufwändige Oberflächenbehandlung haben unsere Mühlen eine angenehme samtige Haptik.

Durch den einmalig guten Transport dieses Mahlwerks eignet es sich auch für öligere und feuchtere Gewürze, wie z. B. roten Pfeffer. This mill shows a grain structure in the upper part and a large decorative piece of bark in the lower part.

Burl woods are natural gimmicks and occur either in so-called burl bulbs or in whole grained trunks. Measles bulbs are wart-like growths on tree trunks, as you often see them on avenue trees. An accumulation of „dormant“ buds or wild growth of hundreds of small branches at the same time.

The multiple soaking with hard oil offers solid protection and gives the wood structure depth and plasticity. The elaborate surface treatment gives our mills a pleasant, velvety feel.
