Die Maserknollen der Buche können entweder wild und rissig sein oder fein und glänzend wie diese hier. Das Holz ist glatt und geschlossenporig und wirkt fast wie Stein. Im oberen Teilstück sind feine blaue Linien eingewebt. Ein Pilz hat diese hinterlassen.
Diese Mühle hat hat eine besonders spannende zerklüftete Rindenkante, die den suchenden Fingern viel zu bieten hat.
Das mehrfache Einlassen mit Hartöl bietet soliden Schutz und gibt der Holzstruktur Tiefe und Plastizität. Durch die aufwändige Oberflächenbehandlung haben unsere Mühlen eine angenehme samtige Haptik.
