This mill made of a small birch trunk is extremely natural. There are small concentric cracks at the top of the lid. The bleached areas and fine dark lines were caused by a fungus that is no longer there after drying. This is called bush hammered wood or spalted wood. The branch cross-sections provide further variety for the eye.
The multiple treatment with hard oil provides solid protection and gives the wood structure depth and plasticity. Due to the complex surface treatment, our mills have a pleasant velvety feel.
